August is the biggest and best month of the year at Arlington Park and you won't want to miss a minute of the action.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 9 for the Arlington Million and International Festival of Racing as the best Turf horses from around the globe compete in three Grade I races - the Arlington Million, the $750,000 Beverly D. and the $400,000 Secretariat Stakes. Gates open early at 10 a.m. and the 12-race card gets underway at 11:45 a.m.
Two weeks later, sprinters make a mad dash for the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint in the $200,000 Arlington Sprint at 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf and the winner gets an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup.
The final weekend of the month is Labor Day weekend and culminates with Arlington's second annual turf showcase on Sept. 1
