Arlington Million Day

A Chicago legend continues with the 29th running of the Arlington Million!

You’re invited to join us at Arlington Park for a grand celebration of the “Sport of Kings,” which draws horses, owners, trainers, jockeys, and fans from every corner of the world. The highlight of the racing day is the renowned Arlington Million: Illinois’s original, extravagant summertime sports party. While a horse race is at the heart of the spectacle, there are many intriguing aspects of the Arlington Million experience... history and tradition, special performances, fashionable apparel and delectable cuisine.

Come out early on Million Day for your chance to meet Hall of Fame & Legendary Jockeys during an autograph signing session at the bottom of the Grand Staircase from 10:30am until Noon.

Then join Daily Herald and horseplayernow.com handicapper Joe Kristufek and special guests for an Arlington Million Q&A Handicapping Seminar at the Starting Gate Theatre beginning at 10:45am until Noon.

Ladies, be sure to enter the Million Fashion Hat Contest for a chance to win an exclusive gift package from Arlington Park and Mario Tricoci. And don’t worry if you haven’t picked out a fashion hat to accentuate your Million Day ensemble. Milliners will be on hand in the Clubhouse to assist you in selecting the perfect hat for the Million Day festivities!

A special performance by "Million Dollar Quartet" – the hit musical inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together legendary rock ‘n' roll icons Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley – will kick off opening ceremonies in the Winner’s Circle before the 5th race.

Then the excitement continues with the International Festival of Racing, featuring the renowned Arlington Million! John Henry's thrilling victory over The Bart in the inaugural Million remains one of the greatest races in the history of the North American turf. Who will be next? Try to figure it out as you watch and wager on three Grade I stakes races to be run on Arlington’s internationally acclaimed turf course – The Arlington Million, featuring a One Million Dollar purse, as well as the Beverly D. and Secretariat stakes.

It's going to be a full and exciting day of racing and merriment that you don't want to miss!
