Memorial Day Weekend

Get in the mood for summer at Arlington Park over Memorial Day weekend. The weekend will feature the first Miller Lite Party in the Park, Miller Lite Taste of Summer and Family Days of the 2009 season and will be highlighted by the American 1000 Guineas race on Saturday.

Friday, May 22nd

The Return of Party In The Park!
Arlington Park is the place to be Fridays beginning at 2:30pm. Sneak out of the office early, crank it up with the best local bands, and kick back while playing the ponies. The first Miller Lite Party in the Park is this Friday, May 22!

Friday afternoon "The Greatest U2 Tribute on the Planet", Elevation, will be rocking the Miller Lite stage in the Park! Join us for fun, music, and 16oz Miller Lite Specials!

The Loop and Plant-It-Pink!
Also on Friday, join the 80's Party with a Purpose! Are you still living in 1982? Join the Loop's Byrd at the 80's Party with a Purpose at Arlington! Come in your favorite 80's attire and you may walk away with a pair of Crue Fest or Def Leppard tickets!

Celebrate the ‘80s with 97.9 The Loop, and help support Breast Cancer Awareness as the American Cancer Society will be selling pink tulips for donations to the "Plant it Pink" program.

Joe Kristufek Learn to Win Seminar
As a handicapping professional, Joe Kristufek will be helping Arlington guests learn to organize racing information and hand out some tips and tricks to help you bet like a pro!

Today's Learn to Win seminar will be held from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the West Kiosk, and 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the East Kiosk. Stop by and learn to win with Joe Kristufek today!

Saturday, May 23rd

Miller Lite Taste of Summer
Join us as we kick off Miller Lite Taste of Summer with Caribbean-style band, Mr. Myers! Music and fun begins at 1 p.m. and will play between races throughout the day.

M. Scott McMannis Visiting Expert Seminar
The Chicago Sun-Times' M. Scott McMannis will be hosting his first visiting expert seminar with Karen Johnson.

Johnson, author of the newly published The Training Game, will be fielding questions from guests during an interview session prior to the handicapping seminar which begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Starting Gate Theatre. Johnson will answer questions from participants and sign copies of her book, which will also be available for purchase.

This seminar will coincide with the 1000 Guineas Festival of races that day, which will feature four stakes races with purses totaling $600,000!

Jockey Goggle Giveaway
As always, on Saturday's and Sunday's, our winning jockeys will be giving out two pairs of signed goggles after every race! Guests are welcome to cheer for goggles outside of the winners circle.

Sunday, May 24th

Family Day Presented by DuPage Children's Museum
Sunday is Family Day at Arlington Park! Join us for family fun activities all day in our park area including pony rides and petting zoo!

This Sunday's Family Day is sponsored by The DuPage Children's Museum who will be hosting be a make-and-take craft, large tinker toys, and another interactive activities

Children are also invited to attend Sunday's Junior Jockey Club event a blacksmith show and tell Junior Jockey Club members and other interested guests, and events sponsored by the DuPage Children's Museum. The DuPage events will be a make-and-take craft, large tinker toys, and another interactive type of activity.

Tru-Green Sweepstakes
Guest are welcome to participate in the Tru-Green sweepstakes, for which the winner will be treated to a VIP tour of Arlington's beautiful paddock and watch a race from the winner's circle!
