Arlington to Race May 1 - Sept. 27 in 2009

Arlington Park will race 98 days in 2009, opening Friday, May 1 and racing through Sunday, Sept. 27. Racing will be 4 days a week (Thursday-Sunday) from May 1 through June 30 and from Aug. 30 through Sept. 27; and 5 days a week (Wednesday-Sunday) from July 1 through Aug. 29. There will also be live racing on Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day) and Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day). For a complete look at 2009 dates, click here.

Illinois Trackside OTBs Open 364 Days a Year

Trackside Off-Track Betting brings all the thrills and challenges of a day at the races right to your town! McMannis at Trackside Arlington Park Dec. 6

Chicago Sun-Times handicapper M. Scott McMannis will conduct a handicapping seminar at Trackside Arlington Park on Saturday, Dec. 6 beginning at Noon. Forever Together Carries Arlington Banner to Filly & Mare Turf Title

Augustin Stable's Forever Together rallied five-wide from eighth position at the furlong marker to win the $3 million Emirate Airline Breeders' Cup FIlly & Mare Turf in front 31,257 at Santa Anita Park on Championship Friday at he two-day Breeders' Cup World Championships in Southern California.

The 96-day meeting at Arlington Park ended Sunday, Sept. 21 with owner Frank C. Calabrese, trainer Wayne Catalano and jockey Rene Douglas taking season crowns in their respective divisions.

Hall of Fame Jockey Earlie Fires Retires

Hall of Fame jockey Earlie Fires hung up his tack Sunday after guiding Frank C. Calabrese’s Manchu Prince to a fifth-place in the fifth race at Arlington Park, where he is the track’s all-time leading rider with 2,886 victories at the suburban Chicago racecourse.
