Armando De La Cerda

Armando De La Cerda was boan Aug.15, 1973, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Though only recently out on his own, Armando is anything but new to racing in general and to racing in Chicago in particular. He has worked on the racetrack for more than two decades including stints under the tutelage of trainers such as Noel Hickey, Mike Stidham and Moises Yanez. For five years prior to going out on his own, Armando was assistant trainer for Brian Williamson. Won his first stakes race with La Tia in the Lincoln Heritage Handicap and that filly went on to finish third in the Grade III Modesty Handicap and fifth in the Grade I Beverly D. La Tia was named Champion Older Filly or Mare and Champion Turf Female in 2013.
