Eduardo Perez

Eduardo Perez was born February 17, 1966 in Taluca, Mexico.  Eddie was discovered while working as a busboy at the La Hacienda Restaurant by trainer Moises Yanez, who talked him into learning how to ride. He worked for Yanez as a groom and hotwalker. He accepted his first mount in the Fall of 1988 at Balmoral Park aboard Red
Teepee but then decided to take a year off as he felt he wasn't ready to ride full time. He was leading apprentice rider at Oaklawn Park Louisiana Downs in 1991. He finished second in the standings at Detroit Race Course in 1992 and 1993. Came back to Chicago in 1994 but returned to Detroit in '96. Relocated to Chicago full time in 1991 and has been a mainstay on the local scene ever since.
