Quincy Hamilton

Quincy, 29, is the son of Quarter Horse jockey John Hamilton. He grew up near Houston, and followed in his father's footsteps to begin his professional riding career as a Quarter Horse jockey. He scored his first career win in a race at Sam Houston Race Park in October 2003. While his father wanted Quincy to pursue a career in Quarter Horse racing, he preferred to ride Thoroughbreds.Riding primarily in Texas and Oklahoma, Quincy's biggest win in the early part of his career was the 2007 John B. Connally Turf Handicap (G3) with MendingFences. Quincy came to Chicago for the first time in 2009, riding primarily fortrainer Donnie K. Von Hemel. During that meet, he rode 33 winners topped by Peach Brew in the Grade III Arlington Oaks. He notched his 1,000th career scoreat Arlington Park on June 6, 2009, aboard Classic Actress for Von Hemel. Quincy has won riding titles at Sam Houston and Remington Park.
