Dale Romans grew up on the Churchill Downs backstretch learning his trade from longtime trainer and father Jerry Romans. The Louisville, Ky native just missed winning the 2010 Kentucky Derby when Paddy O' Prado finished a game third. In 2011 he won his first Classic race when Shackleford captured the Preakness. He saddled Court Vision to an upset win in the Breeders' Cup Turf Mile in 2011 and captured the Breeders' Futurity with Dullahan.

Shaun Bridgmohan was born on June 24, 1979 and resides in Goshen, Kentucky. A native of Jamaica, Shaun moved to Florida at age 13 and was introduced to horse racing at Calder Race Course by his father Gerald, an avid horse racing fan who would not let his son pursue a career as a jockey until he had graduated high school.

Starter Analysis
Stablemate of Silver Max has a solid turf pedigree being by Cozzene and out of a mare by Lemon Drop Kid and scored his first grass win through winning the American Derby here in July when gamely sneaking up the rail to get up late. Barn of Dale Romans wins with a solid 15% of starters on turf and with 17% in stakes races and gray can be stalking the pace with Shaun Bridgmohan retaining the mount. Colt was well beaten by Silver Max two starts back at Indiana over a mile and does appear to have much to find to beat his stablemate but the extra distance and a decent early pace should help improving runner’s chances.
