Son of leading European sire Dansili followed last year's impressive success in this event while overcoming traffic in the stretch with a fine second in the Caufield Cup in Australia before finishing a good fifth in the Melbourne Cup. Seven-year-old but has been a touch disappointing in his two efforts this year in Group Two events in England but was facing tough competition in those two outings and dark bay appears to have been campaigned with this event in mind and with a likely repeat trip to Australia later this year for trainer Marco Botti who also won the inaugural running of this two year's ago. Dandino loses last year's partner Ryan Moore but gains the services of Lanfranco Dettori in the saddle and as the class of the field can be along from off the pace to repeat.
