David Wachman

Trainer

David Wachman is now established as one of the top Flat trainers in Ireland. This is a remarkable achievement considering he has only held a licence for just over a decade. In common with many trainers, Wachman gained his racing education by spending time with numerous trainers all around the world including Jessica Harrington, Michael Hourigan and Jim Bolger in Ireland, Bill Mitchell and Brian Mayfield Smith in Australia and Jennie Pitman in England.

Wayne Lordan

Jockey

Wayne Lordan began his career as an apprentice jockey in 1999, and now rides as first jockey for Irish trainers Tommy Stack and David Wachman. He started life on the pony racing circuit in Ireland and left school at the age of fourteen to pursue his dream of becoming a jockey. Naturally small, Lordan weighs 100lbs, and, unusually for a jockey can eat what he likes, and has never had to visit a sauna in his life.

Flaxman Holdings, Ltd.

Owner

Flaxman Holdings is the name for the racing empire built by Stavros Niarchos. He passed away in April 15, 1996 and his daughter Maria Niarchos-Gouaze took over the famiy's racing business. Niarchos got involved with horse racing in the 1950s and made a quick impression as an owner by campaigning champion English juvenile Pipe of Peach. Niarchos earned top owner honors in France for 1983 and 1984.

Starter Analysis

Filly has won five of her nine lifetime starts and would be five for eight on grass if not disqualified after finishing first past the post in the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown in September. Daughter of Danehill Dancer was last seen when second in a Group One event at Deauville in late July over a mile behind the talented Elusive Kate who was coming off a win in the Group One Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, and filly has some tactical speed and can be in perfect position from the start while stretching out in distance with regular rider Wayne Lordon aboard.
