Son of Sky Mesa has a record of 12-4-3-0 on grass and was claimed by Naipaul Chatterpaul three starts back and was immediately ambitiously placed when finishing last in the Man O War Stakes at Belmont in July. Five-year-old fared much better in the thirteen furlong John’s Call Stakes at Saratoga in his latest start when finishing an even fourth behind Harrods Creek in perhaps his best lifetime performance. Barn wins with 10% of runners in stakes races and chestnut may prove to be an astute claim running into contention from off the pace with Julio Espinoza in to ride.
