Larry Rivelli

Trainer

Larry Rivelli (born Jan. 15, 1971 in Chicago) comes from a racing family that included his grandfather Pete DiVito and his uncle Jimmy DiVito. A football player through high school and college, Larry knew he was too small to make it in the NFL. He went to work for his uncle Jimmy and also sold cars for a time. Going out on his own in 1999, Larry saddled his first winner that year at Prairie Meadows in Iowa and has always hit with a high percentage.

Quincy Hamilton

Jockey

Quincy, 29, is the son of Quarter Horse jockey John Hamilton. He grew up near Houston, and followed in his father's footsteps to begin his professional riding career as a Quarter Horse jockey. He scored his first career win in a race at Sam Houston Race Park in October 2003.

Starter Analysis

Chestnut will make his first start on grass and was last seen when narrowly defeated in a stakes over a mile at Lone Star in early July after dueling for the lead from the start. Son of Songandaprayer will make his third start for trainer Larry Rivelli who wins with 18% of his runners on grass and chestnut will be the likely pace setter under Quicy Hamilton, but does not own a pedigree to suggest he will handle the surface or the distance.
