Danny Miller
Trainer
Danny Miller, 59, was born in the tiny town of Casey, Illinois, approximately 40 miles west of Terre Haute, Indiana. His father raced horses at the county fairs in central and southern Illinois but after he was killed in an automobile accident when Danny was 12, the younger Miller rode briefly “in the bushes,” kept working with horses at Casey Thoroughbred Farm and eventually came on the racetrack with trainer Francis Ball.
Francisco Torres
Jockey
Born in Mexico, Francisco moved with his family to the Chicago area when he was just two years old. His brothers Javier and Ramiro both work in the racing industry as well. Francisco rode with a great deal of success in the Chicago area through much of the 1980s and 1990s. In 2000, he went to the middle east to ride under contract for Abdullah binAbdulaziz al-Saud, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Frank Calabrese
Owner
Frank Calabrese (born Nov. 4, 1928 in Chicago, Ill.) made his fortune with the printing firm FCL Graphics in the Chicago community of Harwood Heights, using the first letter of his sons' names in naming the business. He sold the business in 2004 for an estimated $75 million. Calabrese raced Standardbreds for 14 years before switching to Thoroughbreds.

Starter Analysis
Dark bay was as game as they come when refusing to give up the lead when winning the Modesty Handicap here in July defeating Snow Top Mountain and Upperline after disputing the front throughout in her first start since May. Daughter of Running Stag now has a record of 7-5-1-0 at Arlington and is trained by Danny Miller who wins with 14% of his runners making their second start off a layoff and who has won with two of his last seven starters in stakes races. Six-year-old finished fourth in this event two years ago after setting the pace into the stretch and may go a long way on the lead again here with Francisco Torres up.
