    While longshot Chip Leader had the wire all to himself the first time past the finish in Saturday’s Grade III $100,000 Stars and Stripes at Arlington International Racecourse, it was Michael Hui’s Greengrassofyoming whose nose landed on the wire first when it mattered in a thrilling four-horse photo finish on Million Preview Day.

  • Faufiler Flies Home in Grade III Modesty

    All eyes at Arlington International Racecourse were on Flaxman Holdings’ homebred Faufiler as she won the 60th running of the Grade III $125,000 Modesty Handicap on July 9. The Graham Motion trainee sat a patient trip under Arlington’s leading rider Jose Valdivia, Jr. in the opening stages, was able to split foes in the stretch and then overtake the front runners in the final furlong to win by 1¼ lengths.

  • Grade III Arlington Handicap Draws 12

    The 81st running of Saturday’s Grade III $125,000 Arlington Handicap drew a field of 12 for the 1 3/16-miles turf event as part of Million Preview Day at Arlington International Racecourse. The top three finishers from the Arlington Handicap earn a guaranteed spot, with entry and starting fees waived, in the Grade I $1,000,000 Arlington Million on Aug. 13.

  • The Pizza Man Seeks Hat Trick in Grade III Stars and Stripes

    A field of ten passed the entry box for Saturday’s 85th running of the Grade III $100,000 Stars and Stripes as part of a nine-race Million Preview Day card at Arlington International Racecourse. The 1½-miles turf event offers the top three finishers a free roll into the Grade III American St. Leger on Arlington Million Day Aug. 13 with both entry and starting fees waived.

  • Oscar Nominated, One Mean Man Renew Rivalry in Grade III American Derby

    The 102nd running of the Grade III $125,000 American Derby drew a field of 11 3-year-olds for the 1 1/8 miles turf event to be run at Arlington International Racecourse on July 9. The top three finishers in the race will earn an automatic entry into the Grade I $450,000 Secretariat Stakes on Aug. 13 with entry and starter fees waived.

  • Marypop Tops Field of Eight in Grade III Modesty

    The 60th running of Saturday’s Grade III $125,000 Modesty Handicap at Arlington International Racecourse drew a field of eight fillies and mares to contest the 1 3/16 miles on the turf. The top three finishers will earn an automatic berth into the Grade I $700,000 Beverly D. on August 13 with entry and starting fees waived.
