ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (August 14, 2013) – Priscilla Vaccarezza’s three-time North American Grade I winner and defending Arlington Million champion Little Mike will defend his crown against a field that includes the winners of Group I races on four other continents in Saturday’s marquee turf spectacular.  The Dale Romans-trained son of Spanish Steps has not finished better than fourth in three Grade/Group I events in 2013, including a disappointing trip to Dubai, but has been training forwardly for his confident connections.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Aug. 14, 2013) –     Thirteen sophomore colts and geldings will contest the $500,000 Grade I Secretariat Stakes at 1¼-miles on Arlington International's world-famous turf course. Three have a special connection to the Secretariat, being sons of 2004 winner Kitten's Joy, who will seek to become the first Secretariat winner to sire a subsequent winner. That trio of runners looking to make history will be met by four runners exiting the Grade II Virginia Derby, another major race won by Kitten's Joy in 2004.

Dandino Invades As American St. Leger Favorite

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Aug. 14, 2013) –  In last year’s inaugural running of the American St. Leger, it was the globetrotting Jakkalberry owned by Darren Dance’s Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock and trained by Marco Botti that took home the top prize in the $400,000 race.  That team returns this year with the British-bred Dandino in hopes of a repeat score in Saturday’s mile and eleven-sixteenths marathon turf event at Arlington International Racecourse.
