A New Breed of "HORSEPOWER!"
On Sunday, September 27, family-style entertainment takes a new turn at Arlington Park to help celebrate the final day of the 2009 season. The crown-jewel of Chicagoland thoroughbred activity welcomes "HORSEPOWER!," a spirited look at high-octane output through the decades... highlighting a select display of vehicles and entertainment.
For the BIG kids, one-of-a-kind classic vehicles:
The "Blowfish," a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda reaching 255 miles per hour
A 552 horsepower, 1940 Ford Convertible
A 1970 flex-fuel Chevy Nova boasting 1,000 horsepower
A rare 1956 Chrysler 300B
A 1966 Ford Mustang once owned and driven by racing icon Carroll Shelby
Live entertainment from the musical group Stingray
For the little ones:
Sparky, mascot of the Chicago Fire makes an appearance
Interactive areas with "Pit Stop Challenge" and "Wii" racing competition

All HORSEPOWER! activities are included with regular daily admissions to the colorful park on Sunday, September 27. Gates open to the public at 11:15 am. First race is at 1 p.m. Arlington Park is located at the corner of Euclid and Wilke Roads, a half-mile east of Route 53, in Arlington Heights.
