Arlington Park Hosts Family Day for 2008 Racing Season

Churchill Downs Communications | 04/10/2008 #

Families looking for fun and entertainment this summer can enjoy Sunday afternoons together at Arlington Park's Family Days. Every Sunday from May 4 through Sept. 21, Arlington Park will host Family Day. Each Family Day will include a special theme that everyone can enjoy.

As part of Arlington's celebration of the Opening Weekend festivities, which includes the simulcast of the Kentucky Derby the day before, children will be invited to "Make a Derby Hat" on Sunday, May 4. Lego Building, Sand Sculpting and Make Your Own Music Video theme days are just a few of the other great ways that families can spend time together throughout Arlington Park's 2008 season. In addition, all the favorite family day activities from previous years including pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting are back and free to the public once inside the park.

Each Sunday this season children can sign up and participate in Arlington Park's Junior Jockey Club, which is open to kids 12 and under. The Junior Jockey Club, which is free to join, educates children about Arlington Park and horses through hands-on activities and giveaways.

Children 17 and under are always admitted free to Arlington Park.

"Arlington Park is a beautiful entertainment venue that provides a great place for the family to spend Sunday together," said Roy Arnold, president of Arlington Park. "Arlington Park also offers an incredible value where a family of four can spend the day, eat great food, place bets and participate in fun activities for less than $100."
