'Cowgirl' Rides to Nicole's Dream Victory
Ol Memorial Stable & C. E. Glasscock's Ride 'Em Cowgirl took the lead midway on the turn and drew off to a decisive four-length score under jockey Eddie Razo as 9-5 betting favorite in Saturday's $57,600 Nicole's Dream Stakes at Arlington Park. The race, originally carded for five furlongs on the turf, was transfered to the main track following heavy overnight rains and was clocked in a brisk 56.60 seconds.
“I rode this filly last time here at Arlington, I really loved the way she ran," Razo said. "I knew being on the inside I needed a good break, and I got just that. She is a nice filly and my job today was just to hold on.”
The Nicole's Dream was her fourth win in five starts this year and her fifth victory in 14 starts overall. She added $34,560 to her bankroll, which now stands at $238,134.
Secret Kin rallied for second and it was two additional lengths back to third-place finisher Bluesbdancing. Twin Buttes, Miss Greenely, Bucky's Prayer, Featherbed, Straight Laced and Summer Recital completed the order of finish.
Ride 'Em Cowgirl paid $5.60, $3.40 and $2.80. Secret Kin returned $5.20 and $4.40. Bluesbdancing paid $6.40.
