Mizzcan'tbewrong Rright in Winning Reluctant Guest
The move of the $57,300 Reluctant Guest Stakes from turf to Polytrack following several days of rain did not phase Clyde Peterson's Mizzcan'tbewrong, who led every step of the way in the one mile and one-sixteenth race at Arlington Park on Saturday. [asset|height=12|width=1]The daughter of Mizzen Mast was ridden by Eusebio Razo Jr. and covered the distance in 1:42.66.
"There was no speed with me, so I was able to set a comfortable pace," Razo said. "It was my first time aboard this filly, and it really worked out well. I thought we might have someone challenge us down the lane, but nobody did."
The victory was the seventh in 23 starts for the Richie Scherer-trained filly who earned $34,380 to push her bankroll to $185,942. She remains perfect in two starts over the Arlington Polytrack after winning a claiming race over the surface last year.
Nans Joy was second in the eight-horse line-up, followed by 5-2 favorite Drop a Line. Labar, Winsome Ways, Quiet Queen, You Dancing Devil and Love Handles completed the order of finish.
Also dispatched at odds of 5-2, Mizzcan'tbewrong paid $7.80, $4.20 and $2.80. Nans Joy returned $4 and $2.60. Drop a Line paid $2.60.
