July is a busy month at Arlington Park with something for everyone from dyed-in-the-wool racing fans to familes with children to music lovers of all ages.
The Independence Day Holiday weekend begins in earnest on Thursday, July 3 with a special 1 p.m. post time for nine live races followed by the northwest suburbs' biggest fireworks celebration at dusk. Purchase tickets online and for the first time, you can buy a reserved seat for the fireworks by clicking on the TICKETS link at the top of this page.
On the Holiday itself, join us for another special 1 p.m. post time andour traditional July 4th headliner the Grade III $175,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap at a mile and a half on the turf.
On July 12, it's Million Preview Day with three graded stakes races - the Grade II $250,000 American Derby for 3-year-olds; the Grade III $200,000 Arlington Handicap for older horses; and the Grade III $150,000 Modesty Handicap for fillies and mares. Plus, there will be a $100,000 guaranteed Late Pick 4 that afternoon. Come out early and get a free Arlington Million baseball cap with your paid admission.
On Friday, July 18, it's WXRT Day at the Races with a post-race concert by The Redwalls. During the afternoon, enjoy Beatles tribute band BritBeat at the Miller Lite Party in the Park.
Plus every Sunday during July it's Pepsi Family Day with pony rides, face painters and a petting zoo for the kids. Also, the Junior Jockey Club meets with fun activities planned for children ages 12 and under.
