Junior Jockey Club

Junior Jockey Club teaches children 12 and under about horses and Arlington Park through hands-on activities and giveaways. Membership is absolutely free. Parents can sign up their children at the Junior Jockey Club tent on Sundays or online by clicking here for an application form. Junior Jockey Club activities take place in the Paddock area unless otherwise stated. Make sure to check the Web site often for any changes.

Join us in the Winner's Circle for a show and tell of our track equipment. See some of the machines that are used on the track and what they do. Members will also get to meet Arlington Park's Track Superintendent Javier Barajas!

Design Your Own Silks

Create your very own custom silks and join some members of Arlington Park's jockey colony in the Winner's Circle to showcase all your beautiful colors for a photo. All the supplies will be provided by the Junior Jockey Club in the Park.

Meet a Trainer Backstretch Tour

Meet in the Paddock
Take a tour to the barn area of Arlington Park. We'll stop by one of Arlington's trainer's barns to learn more about what it takes to train a Thoroughbred. Space is limited for this event; please check in early at the Junior Jockey Club tent.

Meet the Veterinarian

Just like humans, horses have to go to the doctor, too. The track veterinarian cares for the horses just like they are his own children. Come join us and he will show you how to care for a horse.

Junior Jockey Club members can take a trip out to the Arlington Park Starting Gate to see the Thoroughbreds in action as a race begins.
