Every Sunday is Family Day with a special theme each week the entire family can enjoy. All this plus pony rides, face painters and a petting zoo.

2008 Family Day Theme Schedule (all Sundays except where noted)

July 27: Micro Reality Stock Car Racing
On July 27 at Arlington Park's Family Day, you can imagine racing your favorite Winston-Cup stock car on a banked oval speedway at scale speeds of more than 200 MPH. You're in control as Micro-Reality stockcar racing presents the ultimate interactive, audience participation experience.

August 3: Mardi Gras
Celebrate Mardi Gras at Family Day at Arlington Park on Sunday, August 3 --- you don't even have to bring your own beads. Children's arts & crafts activities at our Mardi Gras celebration include making colorful hats and beads to be worn in special a Mardi Gras parade in the Park area at 3:30 p.m.

August 10: Lego Building
How many Legos does it take to make a six-foot high heptagon? Find out at Family Day at Arlington Park on Sunday, August 10 as you help to build one on the band stage in the Park area.

August 17: Comedy Juggling
Skillful-yet-funny juggling feats with balls, scarves, clubs, rings and spinning plates are the order of the day at Family Day at Arlington Park on Sunday, August 17. Improvisation is mixed into the show as you never know what the audience participants will do on stage.

August 24: Sand Sculpting
You don't need to go to the beach to see fantastic sand art creations. Come to Family Day at Arlington Park on Sunday, Aug. 24 and see our sand artist create spectacular works of sand art right here at Arlington and you may even get a chance to create a work of sand art yourself.

August 31: Hip Hop Dancing
Put your dancing shoes on as Family Day at Arlington Park presents Hip Hop Dancing on Sunday, August 31, with the "Hip Hop ConnXion Dance Show" featuring youth performers from all over the Chicago area. Between shows the dancers will give basic instruction in the art of Hip Hop dancing to the audience.

September 7: Rope Warrior Show
Join us on Sunday, Sept. 7, for Family Day when Arlington Park presents the "Rope Warrior Show" starring Guinness World Record Holder Dave Fisher and his Ropenastics show that mesmerizes audiences of all ages.

September 14: Bugs, Bugs Bugs
Kids will be able to make fun bugs from common everyday recyclable materials at Family Day at Arlington Park on Sunday, Sept. 14. All the supplies and decorations will be provided so everyone can make and decorate their own fun bug.

September 21: Story Acting
The intimacy of old fashioned story telling is combined with children acting out traditional story books complete with makeshift props and on-the-spot coaching at the final Family Day of the season on Sept. 21 at Arlington Park.
