On Saturday, August 9th, Arlington Park's signature event, the Arlington Million, takes center stage in the international world of horse racing. In its 26th year, the Arlington Million is one of the most storied races with some unique history including the amazing finish in 1981 when John Henry beat the Bart by a nose and the Miracle Million in 1985 where the race was courageously run just 25 days after the entire grandstand had burned down.

In 2008, the Grade I Arlington Million will be featured on national television on ESPN. The supporting Million Day race card also features the Grade I Beverly D and the Grade I Secretariat. Both the Arlington Million and Beverly D will once again be apart of the Breeders Cup Challenge. The winners of each race will win automatic berths into their respective races in the Breeders Cup World Championships to be held October 2008 at Santa Anita.

Million Day is the most festive day of the racing calendar at Arlington Park, with a crowd of over 32,000 expected and exciting events planned through out the day. Reserved tickets for the Arlington Million sell out well in advance of the event so advanced planning is recommend.
